5-week attachment with rural surgeon (general surgery) in rural Tamil Nadu, India (July-August 2007)

Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Ethics, Providence St Vincent Medical Center, Portland, Oregon, USA.  Took part in ethics consultations, committee meetings, and ethics ward rounds (August 2005). 

Intern in Clinical Ethics, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada.  Spent a month observing the activities of the hospital's clinical ethicist (July-August 2003). 

Hospital magician, Charing Cross hospital. Involves going around the wards and performing close-up magic for patients (March 2005-ongoing)

Third-manning in ambulance in Portland, Oregon, USA and Oxford, UK (August 2005 and November 2004, respectively).

Pharmacy assistant, Lloyds pharmacy, Oxford 2004.

Shadowed GP for a month (one day a week) in Oxford, November 2003.

Shadowed speech-language therapists at Barnet General Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Royal National Hospital, London (June-July 1999)

Over the years, I have also taken part in many ward rounds, clinics and multidisciplinary meetings in various clinical departments, from neurology to nephrology.
